Herbs are balsam for all the senses. In the Medicinal Plant Garden you can smell and taste scents and aromas, and your eyes can drink their fill from the harmonious interplay of colours in the garden designers’ colour compositions.

Herbs are balsam for body and soul. Let the information panels guide you through the world of medicinal plants. Find out about the wide range of applications. The garden is a repository of age-old knowledge – ayurvedic and anthroposophic, the lore of wise women from the Middle Ages, ­the latest knowledge from modern botanical medicine, and popular medicine as taught by Hildegard von Bingen and Pastor Kneipp. You will learn a great deal about the great efficacy but also the dangers of individual herbs.

Come on in: herbal medicine from past ages is explained between the lime and the information pavilion, the circular flowerbed around the spring contains the most important current representatives of domestic medicinal plants, the informally laid-out garden is an open invitation to the olfactory and visual senses with its colourfully composed beds, its aromatic and scented beds, its interesting poisonous and magical plants, its vegetables and culinary herbs.
